Magnesium is involved in hundreds of reactions in the body, including muscle contraction, nerve signalling and energy production. Yet the World Health Organisation notes that many populations fall short of the recommended daily intake, and plenty of people never connect the dots between low magnesium and the cramping calves, the twitching eyelid, or the night they could not switch off.
Why you’ll love it
Spray it straight onto calves, shoulders or feet.
A simple step 30 to 60 minutes before bed.
No tablets, no aftertaste, no digestive upset.
Nothing added that commonly causes a reaction.
Target the exact spot rather than the whole body.
No fragrance, so it layers under anything.

What’s inside
This is a high-strength Magnesium Chloride brine, drawn from the earth in its natural form and diluted with water. That is the entire formula, which is why it suits sensitive skin and layers under everything else you use.
It is made for topical use, so you apply it to the part of you that needs it rather than taking it internally.
Read the guide to magnesium spraysOf the magnesium forms available, chloride is the one most often chosen for topical use, because it dissolves readily and spreads easily across the skin. Ours is a concentrated brine rather than a watered-down mist.
There is no fragrance, so nothing clashes with a night cream, a liniment or the Kunzea range, and there is nothing added to irritate skin that reacts to perfume.
No parabens, sulphates, artificial colours, preservatives or petrochemicals. Two ingredients means fewer things to react to, which is what makes it a sensible daily habit for the whole family.
When to reach for it
Onto the muscles you have just worked, while you cool down.
Legs and feet 30 to 60 minutes before lights out.
A few sprays on the calves when you cannot keep them still.
Into the calves and arches before you turn in.
Across the neck and shoulders at the end of a long day.
The 120ml travels easily for stiff legs and lower backs.
Arches and calves for nurses, hospo and tradies.
Diluted and patch tested first. See our guide for children.

Zea began in 2016 as a family market stall in Tasmania and we are now Australia’s only Certified B Corporation in natural pain relief, donating 1% of all sales to the planet. When we made a magnesium spray, the temptation was to add scent and a longer ingredient list. We left it at two, so it does one job properly and suits almost everyone.

A highly concentrated natural Magnesium Chloride brine, extracted from the earth in its natural form and diluted with water. It is applied to the skin rather than swallowed, and is designed to support tired muscles and help you unwind.
Just two ingredients: Water and Magnesium Chloride. Nothing else, so there are no synthetic fragrances, parabens or preservatives.
Spray directly onto the area of concern 2 to 4 times per day, or as required, and rub gently until absorbed. Patch test before first use. External use only, and avoid eye contact.
A mild tingle on the first few uses is common with high-strength magnesium and usually settles as your skin gets used to it. If it bothers you, apply to damp skin, use less, or rinse after 20 minutes. We explain it in more detail in this guide. If irritation persists, stop using it.
Many customers spray legs, shoulders or feet 30 to 60 minutes before bed to relax and unwind, or straight after exercise to ease tired muscles. It fits into a morning or an evening routine equally well.
The 200mL lasts longer and is the size most people reorder. The 120ml is easier to travel with and is a good place to start if you have not used topical magnesium before.
This spray is pure magnesium, which makes it the simplest and most versatile option for daily wellbeing and winding down. MAGZEA Muscle Recovery Spray adds Kunzea, Peppermint and Spearmint for a cooling effect built around pre and post exercise recovery.
Many parents do, usually diluted and always patch tested first. We have a dedicated guide on topical magnesium for children. Check with your health professional if you are unsure.
